The following contains spoilers for Transformers One, now playing in theaters.
As with any Transformers movie, Josh Cooley's Transformers One has a sprawling cast. It makes sense as these stories have various robotic factions, such as the Autobots and the Decepticons, tussling with each other. This also means Transformers One doesn't have any human characters, as this journey takes place wholly on Cybertron.
Still, there are many characters as the origin story for Orion Pax and his road to becoming Optimus Prime is laid out. With that in mind, here are the main figures involved in Cooley's movie about the early days of Cybertron's civil war. It also depicts how the planet becomes split due to a harrowing caste system.

Date of Birth | March 31, 1982 |

Brian Tyree Henry's D-16 is the early identity of Megatron. He's Orion's best friend and wants his people to be considered as an elite part of society. He's less into comedy and more into the serious issues they face.
Henry has shot into the mainstream limelight in a big way. He was the MCU's Phastos and starred in the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies. He's known more for humor, but his D-16 has a very dark edge to him as he embarks on a social justice quest. Sadly, he loses parts of his soul and takes steps to becoming a monster.

Fans mostly know Johansson because of her time as the MCU's Black Widow. However, she has been in award-winning dramas such as Lost in Translation and Marriage Story. In this case, the actor gets to be more comedic and witty to banter with the childish Orion.
Keegan-Michael Key Is the Wily B-127
B-127 Is a Genius Who Won't Stop Talking

Place of Birth | Michigan, USA |

Notable Movies | Hotel Transylvania 2, The Lion King |
Notable TV Shows | Reno 911!, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance |
Keegan-Michael Key's B-127 is the early form of Bumblebee. Like the others, he can't transform, so he works in garbage disposal. In time, he wants to help find the Matrix so they can all evolve. However, he's very clumsy and a liability.
B-127 fits the energy of Key's sketches from Comedy Central's Key & Peele. He has shown this sort of innocence in movies like The Super Mario Bros. Movie. But when B-127 gets serious, it nods to Key's more aggressive side, per roles like Wonka's police chief. All in all, Key's "Bee" gets to display his range and prove that he is more than jokes and punchlines as this self-anointed "Badassatron."
